Frank is well-known for the blog SOMEWHAT FRANK, and for his analysis on Web 2.0, social media and emerging technologies and has been featured in a number of publications including TechCrunch, iMediaConnection, ReadWriteWeb Network as well as on his blog and related video podcasts on SOMEWHAT FRANK TV. He speaks at conferences nationwide and has been written about in multiple national publications. He also advises and consults businesses in the social networking and social media space.

In May 2006 he co-founded TECH cocktail with Eric Olson, a community building startup which offers events and community-powered projects open to bloggers, technology enthusiasts, entrepreneurs & professionals interested in technology in under served technology communities. Hosting events in Chicago, D.C., Boulder and Boston, Frank co-hosts the TECH cocktail CONFERENCE in Chicago.

Frank Gruber is a product strategist and social media expert at AOL/Bebo in the social networking group. His past AOL successes include the myAOL personalized startpage which has been rolled out globally since launching in July 2007. Frank has developed online product strategy for Apartments.com and Tribune Interactive, a subsidiary of the Tribune Company. Frank has also offered strategic Web and social media consulting services. He is a creative mind and loves products or "bright shiny objects" as he refers to them.
