Adaptive Path's Brandon Schauer came out with a new report today that investigates Web 2.0 and tries to explain why many of the killer Web 2.0 applications were not created until recently, as the sum of many parts, while the parts have been available for years. Michael Arrington lead me to the essay in his most recent post. He was even in on part of the research, nice job Michael. Additionally, in case you are not familiar with Adaptive Path, they are a user experience focused consulting firm with the following mission:
"We help businesses maximize the value of their investment in product development by crafting effective user experiences with an emphasis on measurable results."
The latest Adaptive Path post titled, "Experience Attributes: Crucial DNA of Web 2.0" is extremely well done and the pdf Web 2.0 road-map is worth printing out and examining thoroughly. The map highlights foundation attributes and experience attributes to plot the path that has lead us to our current state of the web, Web 2.0.
