What started as a hobby for Michael Arrington of almost obsessively profiling Web 2.0 companies on his blog TechCrunch has grow into a blog network with his announcement late yesterday (January 12, 2006) of the creation of another blog under the TechCrunch umbrella. The new blog is called MobileCrunch and will be written by Oliver Starr who Michael describes as a, "long-time 'mobile' blogger and entrepreneur." Michael goes on to explain the reason of the addition of a mobile blogger by saying:
"The mobile space continues to take off and it needs quality bloggers to cover the space. I do not have the qualifications or time to properly write about it. Having a mobile all-star like Oliver on board to share his thoughts is a wonderful opportunity, and of course I jumped at the chance to work with him."
Congrats to Michael on MobileCrunch and his newly formed blog network. I am sure it will be an excellent addition to the blogosphere.
Any plans to add SomewhatFrankCrunch in the near future?
