Google Buys Web Word Processor, and Writely So

Writely The speculation that was brewing in the blogosphere has been confirmed today as Google has acquired , an online document and collaboration publishing platform. On the heels of GDrive speculation that leaked from a Google Investors presentation, the purchase falls in line with Google’s apparent strategy to move everything online thus offering a shadowing resemblance to the days of the thin client and terminal computing.

Imagine being able to be anywhere in the world and being able to write, store and share your documents and other files from your Internet connected device. Microsoft's has a similar strategy, so I feel Microsoft and Google are going to battle in this space for online software supremacy. It will be gripping to watch.
