Social Networks Battling the Portals

Compete, the US web statistics company, is predicting that the Internet portals like Yahoo and Google will soon be surpassed by social networks site like MySpace and Facebook. Are social networks going to be more popular than portal sites? 

There is definitely a trend in that direction as the graph above from Compete.com shows.
