Planypus Group Plans Site Gets Funded

Planypus (planyp.us), a startup co-located in Chicago and Washington, DC, offers friends and family the ability to create collaborative plans. Think of it as a wiki for your social life. Today Planypus announced the closing of its Series-A financing.

Organized by my events, my city and my friends, Planypus makes it easy to keep track of local events. From movie night to simply meeting up to catchup with friends, Planypus makes it easy to plan meetups with groups of friend or family. Planypus also displays events, movies, restaurants, and happenings in your local area.

Planypus CEO and co-founder Yan Pritzker had this to say of todays funding announcement:

"This round of financing will allow us to bring a more robust infrastructure to our customers. We are working hard to improve our user interface and bring exciting, new features to fruition."

I cannot wait to see what Playnpus has planned next. Planypus was a startup highlighted at TECH cocktail 2 in Chicago and I also got a chance to hang out with them in their cool Planypus theads at TECH cocktail DC (get yours here). Since then, Planypus has come a long way with the functionality and overall look and feel of the planning site. It looks great - congrats to the Planypus team.
