I am terrible at pronunciations. Forvo is an online resource that might be able to help by leveraging the wisdom of the crowds to collect and offer audio pronunciations of words. Currently, they offer 14,653 words 13,131 pronunciations in 182 languages.
Forvo takes a pretty simple idea, word pronunciations, and focuses on creating the best online resource for that particular idea. Forvo crowd sources much of the site out to the Web. Users can both add words and audio mp3 pronunciations. Users can then also rate and discuss other pronunciations which probably can offer some heated debates when in situations when "you say tomato, i say tomahto." Each word, like tomato, is offered as a downloadable mp3 and can be embedded on other sites as shown below.
Additionally, there are RSS feeds for every category.
Forvo is a great idea, since as I mentioned before, I am terrible at pronouncing words. I may have to start using the listen and learn part of the site as it might improve my pronunciations and vocabulary.
