According to several reports online and throughout the blogosphere, Google has started testing a Google Wi-Fi which is a free Internet access offering. The testing is taking place at a two locations (a gym and pizza parole) near Google’s Mountain View, California headquarters. Nate Tyler a Google spokesman was quoted as saying:
"Google Wi-Fi is a community outreach program to offer free wireless access in areas near our headquarters.”
I guess we will have to wait to hear the rest of the details of this project. However, it is evident Google is dabbling with the idea of getting into the telecommunication business.
