Google has already dominated the current Internet landscape by reinventing search. There are several reports that Google's next project could be the creation of its very own Internet Protocol or IP which basically means they could be creating a new private Internet.
The speculation started last month when Google placed ads looking for negotiators to assist with acquiring dark fibre. Dark fibre was laid as the backbone of fibre optic communications and is currently in the dormant or incomplete state. The fibre could be turned on thus completing the network and Google could have its own private Internet spanning the United States. Which leaves me to wonder is Google planning on creating a broadband Internet network with free* connections?
Google also has been said to be preparing to put out a low cost PC (around $100) called the Google Cube which could tie into a Google Internet network to deliver services and content to its users at a very low cost. With all of the speculation is will be interesting to watch as Google makes its next move and literally reinvents the Internet.
