The article in the New York Times today (March 6, 2006) by Bob Tedeschi offered a great piece which should serve to educate readers non-familiar with RSS with the nuances of syndication feeds. The article highlighted several businesses that are using RSS to deliver personalized deal alerts. As mentioned in the article:
"According to a Forrester survey last year, just 14 percent of Internet users even know what RSS is, and fewer than 5 percent have used it."
It is important for people to learn more about RSS syndication and it is my hope that that articles like the one today in the NY Times help communicate the value of syndication feeds leading to further mainstream buy-in.
