The Midwest just got some TechCrunch love as it recently published an article I wrote highlighting nine Chicago startups that made it out to the first annual TECH cocktail event held July 6, 2006 at State Restaurant and Café. The event drew quite a crowd including guests from established Chicago companies like Apartments.com, CareerBuilder.com, Cars.com, Orbitz, Google, Yahoo, Playboy and Tribune Interactive. However, in the article I took a look at the following nine startups:
ChicagoCrime.org
Coastr
ExtraTasty / skinnyCorp
FeedBurner
Gritwire/Gritlist
Naymz
RipIt Digital
TableTop Interactive
ZapTix
Planypus is an additional company that was present at the TECH cocktail 1 event and unfortunately I did not realize it until after composing the TechCrunch post. You can read the TechCrunch article here. Thank you to Mike Arrington for giving me the opportunity to cover the event in his absence and share some of the Midwest startup action with the loyal TechCrunch followers.
