After a week off as a result of losing host Amanda Congdon, RocketBoom is back today (July 12, 2006) with interim host Joanne Colan who appears to carry a British accent. The first video-cast was average in excitement but I am sure that it will improve as Joanne gets more comfortable with the format. My favorite part was the closing line by Joanne as she catches a tomato:
"Well folks, that brings me to the end of the first episode of RB 2.0...hmm...I guess it wasn't that hard afterall."
Good to see the Boom is back. However, I am pretty tired of this story in general as it reminds me of a bad remake of the hit movie Anchorman. Especially, after the last week of media speculation over RocketBoom's sudden halt in production. The speculation included a number of conspiracy theories one of which even called Amanda's departure a publicity stunt. Hmm, maybe it was? I know RocketBoom was popular before Amanda departed. After a week of bad press (and there is no such thing as bad press) it has to be more popular now than ever before. Only time will tell if Amanda made RocketBoom or if the show can go on without her.
