Quintura For Kids launched just before the holiday rush to offer children a new way to search the web. Similar to the adult version of the Quintura visual search product, Quintura for Kids displays search results in addition to a keyword tag cloud. Quintura for Kids also offers children five pre-configured quick search categories (animals, games, music, TV and science). Quintura for Kids is powered by the Yahoo Kids search index, which ensures that the search results presented are suitable for children.
Search Engine Land recently had this to say about the launch of Quintura for Kids:
"I think the concept of visual search is one that will appeal to children, and they may well find this an interesting, enjoyable and above all different way to search."
I definitely agree, as Quintura for Kids is a lot friendlier visually than other search engines. Quintura for Kids should be a hit with children looking to search the web but we probably should leave that decision up to the kids.
