CuteCircuit thinks you need a hug as the company has created an innovative shirt called the Hug Shirt. Leveraging Bluetooth technology and SMS text messaging, the Hug Shirt lets you send a hug to your fellow hug shirt wearing friends via your mobile phone. Each hug you send is played back like a message. So if you tap on your left shoulder the receiver of the message will feel that tap wherever they receive the message.
Nominated as one of the Best Inventions of 2006 by Time Magazine, the Hug Shirt does not appear to be readily available for purchase yet but it probably will be soon. I cannot wait to find one because I would love to give the Hug Shirt a whirl. For a deeper explanation of the Hug Shirt, the resident performed a video interview (shown below) at the 2006 Wired NextFest.

Current TV also offers an informative program on the Hug Shirt produced by Mark Rinehart.
What's next for CuteCircuit?
I would love to see Facebook, Twitter and other mobile enabled social networks tap into CuteCircuit's innovating idea to turn pokes and nudges
into real physical events via the Hug Shirt and other garmets. Additionally, I would
guess that CuteCircuit could have an eye on the billion dollar porn
industy with a spin-off company called NaughtyCircuit - that would be
interesting.
