Engagd, created by Faraday Media, has launched to offer web developers a toolkit of services for tracking attention data (the things users do on the Web). Leveraging Attention Profiling Mark-up Language or APML, Engagd offers a few different Web services empowering users to control their own personal Attention
Profiles, and developers to quickly and easily add Attention Awareness
to their applications and mashups.
For the developers out there, check out the Developer SDK. Currently, Engagd services include:
OpenID Identity (me.engagd.com) - Access all Engagd services using OpenID - bind your Attention Profile to your OpenID identity.
Profiler Converter (profiler.engagd.com) - Give Profiler your Attention Data - in the form of RSS feeds or Web pages - and it will generate an APML file you. It will even keep checking the RSS feeds and keep your APML file up-to-date.
Personal Relevancy Engine (itemrank.engagd.com) - Give ItemRank your APML file and a set of content, and it will return that content filtered and ranked by Personal Relevancy.
Engagd is the first free, open standard Attention platform of its kind. It will be interesting to see how it is leveraged in todays Attention Economy.
