Grayboxx, a Silicon Valley-based local search startup, has been in stealth mode for quite sometime but recently surfaced by kicking off a tour of the United States cities last week in Burlington, Vermont. Grayboxx bases its local search results on recommendations of neighbors coupled with some snazzy algorithms to assess user behavior.
Grayboxx plans to open up other cities as it moves along on its
tour. However, it appears you can check it out by navigating through
the directory link in the footer. I was able to capture this screen-shot of a pizza search in Washington, DC. I was impressed by the number of cities listed in the directory and the search results seemed to be pretty good. Click the screen-shot below for a closer look.
