Real estate can be a profitable investment. However, many are turned off by the idea of being a landlord and having to manage a number of properties at one time. Managing property can sometimes be complicated and time consuming. Propertize, a Chicago-based startup, aims to help make it easier by offering an online property management suite.
I got a chance to trial Propertize and found the first time experience of inputing properties, rental units and tenants very quickly and easily. Within just a few minutes I had my dashboard setup for property management. Once setup Propertize offers the ability to keep a running ledger of properties. The data can be exported into a spreadsheet for offline use. Check out my dashboard in the screen-shot (below).
Currently, it does not appear that Propertize offers a way to communicate with tenants. I'd love to see some sort of invoicing tool either built into or plugged into Propertize to keep users from having to use separate systems. Maybe Propertize could plug into Freshbooks open developer API to add the invoicing functionality.
