Distributing content is key to any serious blogger. There are a number of social news and bookmarking sites offering bloggers the ability to have sharing features on their site. Adding all the icons to your blog can cause some serious 'icon acne' and cramp the style of any blog design. So it is important to make it easy for your blog readers to share your content with others and social news sites alike. madKast, a Boulder, Colorado based start-up, recently launched to offer a way for bloggers to make sharing easy.
One of the ten companies involved in the TechStars program this past summer with serial entrepreneur Brad Feld, madKast makes it easy to share your blog posts with two simple steps and requires no sign-up or registration. Once installed, madKast determines blog titles and displays a madKast share icon which launches a dialog overlay which puts sharing with many of the social bookmarking and news sites at readers fingertips.
Along with easy sharing, madKast also offers analytics which offer an interesting look at the activity surrounding a specific site. Tag clouds and recommended readings were also offered (as shown below).
The only issue I saw when I installed madKast on Somewhat Frank was a layout issue with my particular blog but I am working on trying
to remedy it and maintain a clean design. If you are blogger looking to make it easier for your readers to share your content I would install madKast, it will take less than a minute.
