Do you send post cards when you are on vacation? I used to, I haven’t in years but definitely still get online while on the road. Postalz has launched leveraging the Flickr API to offer a way to send an online post card. Postalz enables users to create postcards with text, art, photo and video and exchange them privately.
While the idea of e-greeting is similar to online post cards and quite frankly is nothing groundbreaking, Postalz value comes in the ability to leverage your photo collection and slick tools to send esthetically pleasing online post cards. Postalz takes the postcard, the simple concept, and offers an AJAX interface of tools that enable users to create personalized postcards. But don’t take my word for it – give Postalz a whirl and see for yourself. Read/Write Web compares Postalz to Scrapblog which offers a similar set of tools for online scrapbooking and I definitely see the similarities.
