It has truly been an action packed 2008 web/tech and social media conference season thus far. I
previously listed a number of events but since January a number of new ones have popped up. I wanted to highlight few upcoming events that I will be attending and thought you might want to check out. I will also be speaking at a number of them. The next few months are going to be big travel months for sure. Check out the list of upcoming web/tech, social media and marketing events.

Intel Developer Forum - San Francisco, CA ~ August 19 - 21, 2008
Intel
and the ecosystem come

Intel Insider I wanted to attend but unfortunately I cannot be in two
places at once so I will be headed to TECH cocktail Boulder 2 instead.
TECH cocktail Boulder 2 - Boulder, CO ~ August 20, 2008
That's
right we are headed back to Boulder for our second TECH cocktail event.
The first event was a lot of fun and we showcased a number of great
startups. Our second event is shaping up to be bigger than the first.
TechCrunch 50 - San Francisco, CA ~ September 8 - 10, 2008
From
TechCrunch20 to 40 and now its up to 50, as TechCrunch offers a place
to show off and compete against 50 startups for a cash jackpot. Last
year I covered the 40 startups at the event and picked my favorites so I am happy to be attending again as media and meeting 50 more startups. Who will be my favorite this year?

ONA Conference & Awards Banquet - Washington, D.C.

When I first moved to D.C. back in 2006 I recall sneaking into this conference to meetup with blogging pal Mike Arrington and Newsvines founder Mike Davidson. So two years later, I am happy to be participating in the event
as I will be discussing Mobile Platforms with a panel of experts which
include Saidah Nash, Erik Schwartz, Steve Safran and Jeffery Litvack.
Social Ad Summit - New York, NY ~

Local DC blogger Nick O'Neill of Social Times
is hosting his first conference covering social advertising. I will
traveling to New York City to covering the event on SOMEWHAT FRANK.
Northern Virginia Technology Council Cool Tech Event - Mclean, VA ~ September 16, 2008
Wyatt
Andrews, CBS Evening News will moderate a panel of which I will be
sitting on as we look at Social Networking Sites and Their Effect on
the 2008 Election.
Web 2.0 Expo East - New York, NY ~ September 16 - 19, 2008
Unfortunately,
I will not be attending the Web 2.0 Expo east this year as I have
decided to instead speak on a panel in D.C. for the Northern Virginia
Tech Council as listed above. But if you are in New York you should
definitely check it out.

Gary Vaynerchuk Woodstock - Woodstock, IL ~ September 20, 2008
My friend Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV will be speaking about wine and personal brand in my home town of Woodstock, Illinois!

spoke at BlogPotomac about Social Media and Shiny Objects and I will be
venturing down to Orlando to do a similar speech. Josh Hallett has
assembled a great cast of speakers and I look forward to hanging out
with them in Florida.
