2008 Web 2.0 & Technology Conference Calendar

It is time to start planning your 2008 conference schedule. Last year, I pulled together a list as 2007 brought us many new conference opportunities. To make it easier to plot out your conference roadmap this year I have once again compiled a list of some of the best web 2.0, technology, design, marketing and innovation conferences and events scheduled in 2008. This list does not contain all the TECH cocktail events I will be hosting as they will be announced soon.

Community Next Conference Wrap-up

The Community Next conference was this weekend in Palo Alto at Stanford University. The event was organized by Noah Kagan and Devin Reams and  focused on building and managing online communities united many of the community site leaders of the web 2.0 industry.

Friday evening (February 9, 2007) at Blue Chalk in Palo Alto, California brought out the community leaders for a few free cocktails. Brian Solis covered the pre-conference festivities and took lots of great photos found here.

Saturday (February 10, 2007) I spent most of the day in the hallways of Annenberg Auditorium talking with attendees about AOL, AIM and dev.aol.com – and sometimes even life in general.  Though Sun Microsystems was trying to bring sexy back to khaki caps, AOL hands-down had the most and best schwag which included: cool t-shirts, laptop bags, iPod/phone cases, USB drive key chains, playing cards, Userplane mousepads, CD cases, stickers and AIM USB port lava laps. AIM and dev.aol.com even took it a step further by giving away three iPod nanos to the best mashup ideas to leverage AOL API’s. A complete list of AOL open API’s can be found on dev.aol.com - let your creativity go wild and mash away! I am interested to see what you can come up with using AOL API’s, so please feel free to email me any completed mashups using the AOL API’s.

I met some great people at the Community Next event as it appeared to be very well recieved. The running man was also shown lots of love so that just was the icing on the cake.
